Each year since 2012, the Gilpin School Community has partnered with Dirty 30 Trail Race Series to provide 80% or more of the volunteers needed for the Golden Gate Dirty 30 to operate successfully. We value this race as a great opportunity to strengthen our own community as we come together to try to provide an enjoyable experience for the runners and welcome them to the beautiful natural resource in our backyard, Golden Gate Canyon State Park.

The volunteers we provide are mainly coaches and student-participants in athletics and activities ranging from football to cheerleading to drama, and the resources we provide mainly include marking the course, delivering water, operating aid stations, controlling traffic, organizing parking, and facilitating bussing logistics.

As the primary beneficiary of the race we receive so much more than just important funding. While the monies we receive go to skills camps and team camps, leadership training for our athletes and coaches, teamwear, and equipment needs--items we could not easily provide without the Dirty 30, the greatest benefit from the race is that it helps us to provide our student-athletes and participants with a skill-set for life and teaches them the value of community service and teamwork.

Thanks for running the course with us and helping us to create better people.
